PHILCAMCSAT and CMET Recertified by BMI
08 December 2015
Both PHILCAMSAT and CMET have been granted re-certification by the Belgian Maritime Inspectorate (BMI) after an audit conducted on December 8 to 11 by Mr. Bart Heylbroeck, Naval Architect - Director at BMI, and Ms. Myriam Jacob, BMI Auditor, who visited CMET and PHILCAMSAT’s Makati and Maragondon offices for the annual inspection. The audit confirmed the institutions’ commitment to the continuous development and improvement of their quality management systems, infrastructure and curriculum. BMI also recognized additional courses offered by PHILCAMSAT which include GOC for GMDSS, ECDIS Generic and Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boat. In particular, BMI noted the Center’s state-of-the-art facility with Mr. Heylbroeck stating that “BMI continues to have a high level of confidence in PHILCAMSAT.” The BMI recognition is a seal of approval from a European flag state and is an assurance for CMET students and PHILCAMSAT trainees that their education and training are of the highest international standards giving them the competency to work globally.
